Experience of the Week: Hapuku Luxury Lodge & Tree Houses
What is the Experience?
Are you looking for something unique and special? How about a luxury tree house? Hapuku Lodge offers luxury accommodation in Kaikoura New Zealand and much more. Their “tree houses” overlook the South Island's rugged east coast near Kaikoura and offer you a great place to relax and unwind.
To experience true New Zealand style lodging you can cuddle up next to your wood-burning fire while enjoying a glass of New Zealand’s fine wines. And as New Zealanders love space you’re in for a great night’s sleep in a custom made extra-large king bed, after your shower in the rain fountain that opens directly onto the tree top deck.
With ocean to your left and mountains to your right and an abundance of farmland in between it's easy to feel utterly alone up here - and this kind of disconnect is exactly what makes Hapuku so special.
Hapuku is not only luxury accommodation it also shares the land with a family run deer stud farm and its own olive grove producing Hapuku Farm Oil. So if you’re wondering where to have your evening meal the lodge is your answer. New Zealand cuisine is renowned for being seasonal and fresh - and Hapuku embodies the ‘paddock-to-plate’ mentality entirely. With the best ingredients sourced from their own farm, gardens, greenhouse. Your seafood was alive that morning, and the cheese comes from a boutique cheesery just down the road. What more could you want?
Where is it located?
The lodge is only 12km from bustling Kaikoura just off State Highway 1. So if you get bored of sipping champagne in your private Jacuzzi (which you probably won't) there are many bush-walks and wildlife encounters to be had just down the road.
Who would enjoy this?
Couples who are looking to get away and experience ultimate relaxation from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Families: just tell your kids you’re staying in a tree house – Hapuku might be the average child ultimate dream accommodation.
