With 180-degree panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and a multitude of activities and adventures to be had, Cape Kidnappers is the perfect escape.

The main lodge features many warm and welcoming common areas in which to relax, including lounge and dining spaces and 'outdoor rooms'. Roaring open fires, contemporary art and stylish interior design await you here.   There is also a wine cellar with tasting room.

Dining at Cape Kidnappers

Dining is a special experience at our luxury lodge. Choose from a variety of dining spaces, each with unique features - from the Wine Cellar, to the Loggia, the small dining room, or the Snug for special occasions, there’s a dining option for you. Enjoy gourmet restaurant cuisine from our award-winning chefs, including the finest New Zealand lamb and beef and the best local produce and seafood.

Head chef, Tim Pickering always aims to source his produce locally, if possible. And with an idyllic Hawke’s Bay location, his “food miles” are low. Now with the Cape Kidnappers vegetable garden in place and its close proximity to the lodge, our chefs are able to create daily menus based on freshness, using many vegetables straight from the garden and offering the most seasonal produce to our guests.

We pride ourselves on making as much as we can on site. Our pastry chef makes everything from scratch – from cereals, cookies, breads, jams, exquisite pastries to ice cream. Our chocolate chip cookies are gaining legendary status, and the smell of melting chocolate wafting from the kitchen means wonderful desserts for the night’s dinner menu are being created.
